HEAT STORAGE MATERIAL COMPOSITION

PURPOSE: The titled economical composition obtained by incorporating sodium sulfate decahydrate with specific amounts of boric acid and sodium alginate, utilizing effectively the latent heat of melting, having improved repetition stability, and suitable to combinations of heat pumps and solar collectors, etc. CONSTITUTION: A heat storage material composition obtained by incorporating (A) 100pts.wt. sodium sulfate decahydrate with (B) preferably ≥0.1pt.wt., preferably 0.5W2pts.wt. boric acid such as orthoboric acid, (C) 0.1W5pts.wt., preferably 0.5W2pts.wt. sodium alginate and (D) sodium tetraborate decahydrate. In preparing the composition, water is preferably first incorporated with the components (B) and (C), and sodium sulfate and the component (D) is then incorporated with the resultant mixture at a temperature of the melting point of the component (A) or above.
